Our Client is seeking an experienced Data Platform Manager to lead their data platform development and growth initiatives.
You will play a pivotal role in defining the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, ensuring that our data platforms deliver exceptional value to users and align with strategic business objectives.
As a Data Platform Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire data platform lifecycle, from conception to launch and beyond, fostering a collaborative and agile environment that drives innovation and excellence.
Responsibilities
Data Platform Vision and Strategy:
Articulate a clear and compelling data platform vision that aligns with the company's overall data strategy and business goals.
Develop a comprehensive data platform roadmap that outlines the evolution and expansion of data platforms, including Snowflake, Power BI, Azure Data Services, and Microsoft Data Warehouse.
Identify and evaluate emerging data technologies, trends, and competitor strategies to inform data platform development.
Data Platform Development and Delivery:
Lead the planning and prioritization of data platform features and development initiatives.
Assess the value and feasibility of proposed features, ensuring they align with data platform strategy and maximize business impact.
Collaborate closely with data engineering teams to define data platform requirements, specifications, and design patterns.
Manage the data platform backlog, prioritize tasks, and track progress towards release milestones.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the data engineering team.
Data Platform Architecture and Operations:
Possess a deep understanding of data platform architecture, scalability, performance optimization, and security best practices.
Oversee the implementation of data platform automation, governance, and operational processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and data quality.
Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement data platform standards, guidelines, and best practices for Snowflake, Power BI, Azure Data Services, and Microsoft Data Warehouse.
Ensure the data platforms resilience, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Business and Stakeholder Management:
Effectively communicate the data platform vision, roadmap, and progress to stakeholders, including senior management, engineering teams, data analysts, and external partners.
Represent the data platform team at cross-functional meetings and ensure alignment with overall business goals and data strategy.
Gather and analyze user feedback to understand market needs and inform data platform development decisions.
Measure and track data platform performance metrics to assess the platform's impact on business outcomes and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a Data Platform Manager or equivalent role, demonstrating a track record of successful data platform development, delivery, and governance.
- Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and delivering results under pressure.
- Deep understanding of data platform architecture, scalability, performance optimization, and security best practices for Snowflake, Power BI, Azure Data Services, and Microsoft Data Warehouse.
- Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
